  1. I vividly remember my kindergarten teacher painting my foot. Then my classmates and I made a footprint banner. The paint was so cold and squishy--it really tickled! I, of course, chose blue paint. It's always been my favorite color! Making footprints was a lot of fun!

  2. I remember my kindergarten teacher had a slumber party at her house for the whole class. We ate hot dogs and junk food. That night we all piled into the den and she even slept in the floor with us! That made her the coolest teacher, lol.

  3. Well, I remember we had a mannequin that our teaching assistant would dress up as different things during the year. She was a teacher in September, a pumpkin in October, a pilgrim in November, etc. I also remember that we took field trips to people's houses. And that this lady named Mrs. Kibler would come help in my class all the time. One time she came and I got my name on the board because I didn't want her to leave....thanks mom. ;-)

  4. My favorite memory was when my kindergarten teacher did a headstand. She was a little old lady and would do headstands when we were good. Maybe you can get Mrs. Kibler to do one if you guys are good! ;)

  6. I have great memories of my kindergarten year making it one of my favorites years. My teacher would let us play beauty shop, she would let us brush and fix her hair. It was always so fun to see the finished product!! Another memory I have is she would let me sleep under her desk at nap time. I thought it was always so cool, because I felt like I had my very own sleeping fort. Mrs. Browning was a really great teacher.

  7. We had a pet gerbil in my kindergarten class at Ardmore Elementary School named Sparks. My teacher, Mrs. Weavil, let one student from the class take it home each weekend to take care of it. But because I did not know how to tie my shoes, she would not let me take it home until I learned to do so. She spent a lot of extra time helping me learn how to tie my shoes, and I finally got to take Sparks the gerbil home. My cat, Scuffy, acted like Sparks was going to be a very tasty treat, but fortunately, Sparks survived the weekend. And now I know how to tie my shoes, thanks to Mrs. Weavil.

  9. I went to school in south Florida. I remember doing a gingerbread hunt just like you all did the first day of school. A newspaper reporter came and I got my picture in the paper! I also remember they decided our building was too old and we had to have school in the library the last couple months of the school year! The old building was knocked down that summer!

  10. I remember having the best introduction to school by my kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Jenerette. She was so kind and all the kids loved her! My favorite time in kindergarten was going on our weekly field trip/walk to the local library for story time. I am from a small town in SC with 1 elementary, middle, and high school - so this was not as unusual as it would probably be now:)

  23. Mrs Macy was my kindergarten teacher. I do not know how old she was but I remember her as being "old". She had white hair and wore White Shoulders perfume. She was so kind and patient. If I was scared or sad she would give me a hug. To this day the smell of White Shoulders brings a smile to my face. I do not remember the activities I did in kindergarten but I do remember Mrs. Macy.
